Category 2 (internal connections): Service Request: Cat 2 - Firewall Given the rising need for robust network security to support remote learning, increased bandwidth usage, and protection of sensitive information, the school is seeking a scalable and comprehensive firewall solution. Vendors offering multiple firewall product lines and features should provide discounted pricing that allows the school to move seamlessly between product tiers over the life of the contract. We recommend presenting detailed pricing for the full range of firewall hardware, software, and support services so the school can adapt to changing security and performance requirements without re-negotiating a new agreement. Proposal Requirements Upfront Costs Proposals must include any recurring costs, installation/implementation fees (labor and materials), and any construction or infrastructure costs (if applicable). Proposals lacking a clear statement of these costs will be disqualified. Business Downturn Clause Contracts must include provisions that eliminate termination liability or protect the school from penalties if a decrease in enrollment or budget constraints require a substantial reduction in services or termination of the agreement. Flexible Term Options Please include monthly, 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year term options, with possibilities for renewals or voluntary extensions. E-Rate Funding Contingency The contract must allow the school to proceed with or without E-Rate funding and retain the option to decline the product/service if E-Rate does not approve funding for this area. No Automatic Renewal Contracts must not include automatic renewals. The school requires the ability to opt in (or out) for renewal, with the option to accept a one- or two-year extension as needed. Inventory and Maintenance Documentation Upon completion of new installations or firewall deployments, vendors must provide equipment inventory reports. For ongoing maintenance services, maintenance logs should be completed whenever maintenance is billed and shared with the school at the time of billing or on a mutually agreed schedule throughout the service term.
