PA school fiber optic and Cat6A cabling installation across multiple buildings. Flagship PCC2K structured cabling work.
Requested services
Category 2 (internal connections): We are requesting competitive bids for E-Rate eligible Category 2 Internal Connections services, specifically the installation of new OM4 multimode fiber optic cabling in our High School, Middle School, Maintenance/Transportation buildings, including a single underground run connecting the two buildings. This project aims to enhance internal network connectivity for data transmission. Additionally, the installation of CAT 6A ethernet runs to connect from our MDF/IDF to new WIFI 7 Access Points. Intra-Building Fiber Installation: High School: Installation of 6 runs of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable 12 strand from the main distribution frame (MDF) to intermediate distribution frames (IDFs) or designated endpoints within the building. Cables must support 10Gbps+ speeds over distances up to 400 meters. High School: Installation of 1 run of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable 6 strand from the main distribution frame (MDF) to a specified location in anticipation for a future inter-building connection. This will be replacing a current fiber run. Cables must support 10Gbps+ speeds over distances up to 400 meters. Middle School: Installation of 49 runs of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable 6 strand from the MDF to IDFs or designated endpoints within the building, with the same performance specifications. Transportation building: Installation of 1 run of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable 6 strand from the Transportation MDF to Maintenance IDFs or designated endpoint within the building, with the same performance specifications. Intra-Building Ethernet Cat6a Installation: High School: Installation of 65 runs of Cat6a from the main distribution frame (MDF) / intermediate distribution frames to designated endpoints within the building to support new access points. Cables must support 10Gbps+ speeds over distances up to 100 meters. Middle School: Installation of 60 runs of Cat6a from the main distribution frame (MDF) to designated endpoints within the building to support new access points. Cables must support 10Gbps+ speeds over distances up to 100 meters. Transportation building: Installation of 2 runs of Cat6a from the main distribution frame (MDF) to designated endpoints within the building to support new access points. Cables must support 10Gbps+ speeds over distances up to 100 meters. One single underground run of OM4 multimode fiber optic cable 12 strand connecting the High School and Middle School MDFs. This run must be armored and utilize the existing conduit, rated for outdoor/underground environments, with appropriate conduit protection, weatherproofing, and compliance with local building codes. Termination and Hardware: Include fiber optic patch panels (e.g., 1U or 2U rack-mountable with LC duplex ports, or equivalent) at each termination point in the MDFs and IDFs for all runs as needed. Include Category 6A panels (e.g., 1U or 2U rack-mountable or equivalent) at each termination point in the MDFs and IDFs for all runs as needed. Provide necessary interconnects, including LC-to-LC patch cords (multimode, OM4-compatible, various lengths as needed for connectivity) and any couplers or adapters for seamless integration. Full turnkey installation, including cable pulling, termination, labeling, and securing (e.g., with Velcro ties and service loops of at least 3 feet at each end for future maintenance). All cabling must be plenum-rated where required (e.g., in ceilings) and tested/certified for performance (provide test results and documentation). Configuration and integration with existing network equipment, ensuring compatibility (bidders must document equivalents if proposing alternatives). Removal of any old cabling if necessary, with proper disposal. All equipment and services must be E-Rate eligible (e.g., cabling is 100% eligible; specify percentages for any partial items like licenses). Provide unit pricing for equipment, labor, and materials. Include options to scale quantities base
