Category 2 (internal connections): Dorchester County School District is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to remove and replace existing damaged OM1 fiber optic cabling and provide a new fiber optic connection to support network connectivity between the main building and an on-site trailer. The awarded vendor shall remove and replace the existing broken OM1 fiber optic cable with new six (6) strand Indoor/Outdoor OM4 multimode fiber optic cable. The new fiber shall be installed through existing pathways within the building and extended into the designated trailer location. No new conduit construction is anticipated; vendor shall utilize existing pathways to the greatest extent possible. The total estimated length of fiber installation is approximately 370 feet of six (6) strand OM4 multimode fiber. At each end of the fiber run, the vendor shall provide and install appropriate fiber coupling/termination panels to properly terminate and protect the fiber strands. Additionally, the vendor shall provide six (6) one-meter OM4 multimode LC patch cables to connect the newly terminated fiber to the Districts existing network switches. All work must include proper termination, testing, labeling, and certification of the installed fiber to ensure compliance with industry standards. Vendor shall provide test results and as-built documentation upon project completion. All materials and installation shall meet or exceed applicable industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
